  1. Unique Coaching Opportunity – Sunday 8th May 10:00 – 17:00

I have arranged a unique opportunity to be coached by one of the UK’s leading athletics coaches, Shane Benzie, and author of ‘The Lost Art of Running’. Shane is described as a running-technique-analyst coach and movement guru. To find out more about Shane visit www.runningreborn.com This is a whole days coaching for just 20 people and will consist of video analysis and group discussion on specific aspects of movement. Everyone takes away a copy of their video and a personal action plan. There is then a follow up webinar, about 30 days later, to review outcomes. The Club is heavily subsidising this event, as an investment in building the Club, and the cost is just £50 per person. If you would like to attend please sign up here -> Coaching Opportunity and please read the instructions in the link. If you have any questions please contact captain@thornburyrunningclub.co.uk

  1. Membership Renewal 2022-23

We will be asking you very soon to please renew your Club membership, as the Club year ends 31st March. The great news is, once again, there is no increase in membership fees for 2022-23. The membership fees are outstanding value, about 50p per week for over 100 sessions a year, plus EA subsidy, XC subsidy, Run & Rehydrate drinks, Party, Xmas chilli, CWR etc. To renew the Club’s EA affiliation the committee are being asked to complete a questionnaire about codes of conduct, inclusivity, health & safety, privacy etc. As a result we have updated our T&Cs and we need you to complete a membership application to accept these T&C please. We will sent out the link asap and we would appreciate prompt payment please, especially for those wishing to have individual EA membership subsidy, as we need to inform and pay EA.

  1. Return to the Track – Tuesday 8th March

I am delighted to say the Club’s Tuesday coaching session will be returning to WISE track (Filton) from March 8th.We will meet there twice per month on 2nd & 4th Tuesday from 7:30pm – 8:30 pm (if there are 5 Tuesdays in a month we will still only meet twice). Both Aztec & TLC groups will share the track (along with UWE) and work as two sub-groups. Anyone wishing to move between groups can then do it easily. The even better news is that the club is funding this 100%. The only payment will be car parking. I am also working on a plan to get parking passes, more about that later. Please look out for announcements in the Aztec and TLC WhatsApp coaching groups. If you are not in these groups and wish to be added please contact captain@thornburyrunningclub.co.uk

  1. parkrun of Month March – 12th March

Fantastic turnout at the Feb parkrun of the month. 19 of the 65 runners were from TRC and 8 of the top 10! Proposing Rogiet parkrun for March 12th, to avoid XC. Rogiet is about 19 miles from TLC or 30 mins drive https://www.parkrun.org.uk/rogiet/

  1. Mob Match – Sunday March 27th

Terrific! 35 people now signed up, be great to get to 40+. Match starts and finishes at Bitton Railway Station and the route is along the cycle path, distance 4.5 miles. Starting at 18:00 (to avoid too many cyclists) on Sunday 27th March. Please sign up now -> Put me on the team The match is chip timed, the club is covering the cost of your chip. Everyone who takes part scores points for the team, so the more runners we have the more points we score. Bitton are making this a family friendly social event with food afterwards and rumours of an ice cream van. Please sign up, thank you.
