Results:-

06/07 Cotswold Way Relay

Provisional Results show that the Old Thorns finished 8th out of 16 teams in the Veterans category in 17:07:29, comprehensively thrashing the so called Quick Thorns who finished 20th out of 35 teams in the Mixed category in 17:30:22.  Well done the speedy Oldies.

Meanwhile, the organisers are checking results with teams to ensure they are as accurate as possible.  Official results are expected later this week.

Well done to Matt for organising the barbecue he couldn’t come to, Moray for getting the awards out correctly and anyone else involved.

20/06 Park Run News:-

Just a few tourists to note this week with Paul Saville (20:56) at Reigate Priory, Kevin Arnold (25:50) at Longrun Meadow in Taunton and Phil Lawrence (21:17) up in Penrith.

1. Pete Mainstone Challenge

The remaining fixture for the  Pete Mainstone Challenge  is on Sunday 19th July  – Lightning Bolt 10km (Chippenham).  Use code Thornbury2026 to get your discounted entry.

2. Avon 5K Road Relay Championships at Cleeve – Sunday 30th August

The event  starts in the flat and beautifully managed Cleeve sports and playing fields and is run on quiet country roads and footpaths in the Claverham and Cleeve area on a predominately flat course with one small climb.

Open men and MV40 have teams of 4 runners, all other teams are 3 runners (open women, FV35, FV45, FV55, FV65, MV50, MV60, MV70).  If you are interested in taking part in this event please let Moray know. 3. Park Run of the Month

We are asking members to nominate the date and location for future park runs of the month. The date can coincide with a special event e.g. birthday or milestone e.g. 100th parkrun. The location should be no more than a 30 minute drive from Thornbury. Please message treasurer@thornburyrunningclub.co.uk with your suggestions. 

4. Winter Coaching Venue Needed

While Tuesday coaching goes on through the summer on Munday Playing Fields, the coaching team are in need of a venue for the dark nights of winter.  If you know of anywhere that might be suitable with good lighting and a lack of trip hazards then please contact Nick Williams (or any of the committee who can pass it on).  Thank you.
