2024-25 Club membership is due for renewal before Monday 1^st April, thank you to all those who have already renewed. If you have not,  please complete the 2024-5 form.

2. Run & Rehydrate – Thursday 11^th April Old Down CC & Food Bank Run & Charity Donation.

The next Run & Rehydrate will be on 11^th of April.  Usual Groups run from Old Down CC at 19.00 then drinks and pizzas after. We will also present our donation of £2,000 to St Peter’s Hospice.

We are also going to do the first “Food Bank Run” on the night of the Run & Rehydrate as a new initiative to help out the Thornbury Food Bank. It is as simple as all TRC Members going to the Run & Rehydrate bring along 2 or 3 items of food eg tins of soup or packet of pasta (non-perishable items), and we will collect it up and deliver it to the local food bank the following day. 3. Introduction to Running Course.

The next Introduction to Running Course is taking place over 9 weeks on Wednesdays from 17^th April to 12^th June at 6:45pm from TLC top car park, graduation parkrun 15^th June. Thank you to all who have volunteered to be Beginners Champions in April. Your support is much appreciated. We still have places for more beginners to join the course, please continue to spread the word. Thank you.  Carol and Natalie

4. Oldbury 10 Mile 2024.

We are looking for a small Team of Members to organise the event in September 2024. We need 3 or 4 people anytime soon for this – we have one volunteer so far. Full training & support will be provided

5. AGM – Thursday 16^th May (Club Year 1^st April 2024 – 31^st March 2025)

The AGM will be after Club Night on Thursday 16^th May at 20.30. We are on the lookout for any Members who would consider standing for the Committee. If you are interested, please speak to any Committee Member who will give an idea of what is involved. We have a very successful Club but we would like to introduce some new blood with new ideas into the Committee in 2024-25.

6. College Association of Sport

The College Association of Sport is running an Athletic competition on Wed 1^st May 11:30-2:30 at WISE to encourage more young athletes participation. They are looking for volunteer officials for the event who could assist this track and field events including the following roles.

Required: Starter, Starters Assistant, Track Support, Field Support, Timer.

8. Cotswold Way Relay. Saturday 6^th July

For 2024 the Club has entered 2 teams into the popular Cotswold Way Relay (103 miles, 10 stage, off-road race through the Cotswolds from Chipping Campden to Bath). We need a total of 20 runners + reserves. If you wish to run, or be a reserve or can help with on the day marshalling then please sign up here. A £10 deposit will be required to secure your place, payable later, but for now we just need to ensure we have sufficient runners, so please sign up now. 2. Ideas for the future of TRC

Due to the success of our 3 races, which all sold out, the Committee are seeking member suggestions on how we can best utilise our reserve to further the Clubs objectives. If you have any suggestions, please submit them here no later than end of March for the Committee to review.Substantive suggestions will be taken to the AGM on Thursday 16th May for comment.

3. TRC Charity Donation

After a successful staging of our 3 events over the last year – all sold out – the Committee has decided to increase our donation to our annual Charity St Peter’s Hospice. We will now donate £2,000 and this will be done at the next Run & Rehydrate event on Thursday 11^th April

We are now seeking nominations from the Membership for the choice of Charity for the coming year 2024-25. Please submit your nominations to the Secretary, Nigel Hale at latest by Thursday 28^th March. We will give the 2023-24 donation to St Peters Hospice

2. Ideas for the future of TRC

Due to the success of our 3 races, which all sold out, the Committee are seeking member suggestions on how we can best utilise our reserve to further the Clubs objectives. If you have any suggestions, please submit them here no later than end of March for the Committee to review. Substantive suggestions will be taken to the AGM on Thursday 16th May for comment.

3. TRC Charity Donation

After a successful staging of our 3 events over the last year – all sold out – the Committee has decided to increase our donation to our annual Charity St Peter’s Hospice. We will now donate £2,000 and this will be done at the next Run & Rehydrate event in early April – date to be confirmed.

We are now seeking nominations from the Membership for the choice of Charity for the coming year 2024-25. Please submit your nominations to the Secretary, Nigel Hale at latest by Thursday 28^th March.

4. Introduction to Running Course.

The Introduction to Running Course has been a great way for the Club to support people who are keen to start running, promote running in the local community and attract new members. We need your help please. The next Introduction to Running Course is taking place over 9 weeks on Wednesdays from 17^th April to 12^th June at 6:45pm from TLC car park, graduation parkrun 15^th June. If you are able to support the next course on 2 or 3 evenings that would be great please let us know the dates that you can help here. We need 2 people each week, 3 if there is particularly large or spread out group. Please contact Carol Mosses, beginners@thornburyrunningclub.co.uk. Please can you also share the advert and link which will be sent to all WhatsApp groups to encourage beginners to sign up for the course. 9. Thornbury Swimarathon

Thanks to the 6 Members that represented TRC in the Rotary Club Swimarathon on Friday 1^st March – Sue Pascoe, Sarah LN, Charlotte Harvard-Smith, Kellie Bryant, Hugh McPherson & Arthur Renshaw. They managed 114 lengths in their allotted 50 minutes.

1. The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity has 13 places in the 2024 Bath Half Marathon on Sun 17 March, and 20 places in the Weston Super Half Marathon on Sun 24 March.

Because it is not too far away, we are offering FREE REGISTRATION for local runners with a fundraising target of £100. Places are usually £40+ but as the run is just around the corner we thought that some local runners would be up for the challenge!

Ben Bohane and Chris Foley ran on Saturday at the cross country and also on Sunday in the Dursley Dozen!

Ben was 1^st Senior Man  in the Dursley Dozen and Chris was 3^rd MV70.  Of course, Jo Plumbley, ran in the cross country with her broken collar bone!
