- Riverbank Rollick Reserves – Kevin Wood RR’25 RD
We have a full set of marshals for the Rollick on 12th January, thank you so much to all those who have volunteered their time. I will be sending out details of your role / location around 12th December, one month before the event. It would be very helpful to have a few reserves ready to leap into action on the day to help out if anyone falls ill. We have 174 members and there are about 60 Club members who have yet to reply, I feel confident that there must be at least two people who can spare 30-90 mins, depending where you are needed, on 12/1 to help. - Alveston Xmas lights Run & Xmas party – Thornbury CC top of Alveston Hill. Thursday 12th Dec 19:00
Run around Alveston to see the lights then party and food at the Cricket Club. Changing & Showers available. Meet at Cricket Club ready to run at 19:00 Two Groups with locally resident leaders – Jim Godden for the faster lot and Moray Sloan for the rest of us.
Also Announcement of who will get the Club place in the London Marathon.
- Thornbury Xmas Lights Run – The Leisure Centre. Thursday 19th Dec 19:00 (usual Club night)
Run around Thornbury to see the lights then back for Tea in the usual room. Three Groups with locally resident leaders – Chris Foley for the faster group, Steve Dimond & Arthur Renshaw for the other groups for the rest of us.
- Club London Marathon place
As usual the Club qualifies to get one place in the London Marathon next April. - Mince Pie run Wotton-Under-Edge Sunday 22 December
Meeting in the Chippings car park in Wotton GL12 7BD. Christmas outfits encouraged. Anything up to 6 Groups different start times but getting back to the Chippings Car Park by 11:00 for Coffee and mince pies.
These are the Groups we have.
- The ‘Fast & Furious’ Group. Starting at 08.00 for about 3 hours. Led by Rob Watkins
- The Ros Group. Starting early 07.00. Intending doing 16 miles. Led by Ros. A version of the Traditional Route
- The ‘cut down Traditional Route’ Group. Starting at 08.30. About 10 miles Led by Moray Sloan
- The ‘Hilly & Muddy’ Group. Starting at 08.45. about 7-8 miles. Led by Arthur Renshaw
- The ‘Steady Run’ Group. Starting at 09.15. 5-6 miles with a few hills. Led by Dave Palmer
- The ‘More Leisurely’ Group. Starting at 09.30. Walking group dogs allowed. Leader required.
