2. Our Charity – Brain Tumour Support

Brain Tumour Support are our Charity of the Year.  They have sent us the following;-

There is a short flyer giving more information about our work as a charity, and the charity-funded runs and challenges we offer.

Brain Tumour Support

In reality, we can get places as most UK events. If there are any you think your members would be particularly interested in, just let me know.

For anyone who wants to run and fundraise for Brain Tumour Support, we can provide t-shirts and/or running vests. If appropriate, we can also give collection tins and QR codes if people would like to donate.

Key events where we offer charity places: There are many local ones, and some further afield (for example the Amsterdam Half Marathon) if anyone is interested in combining a run with a weekend away J Runners effectively get a free place (they just have to pay the registration fee) for a set fundraising target.

Finally, we are also offering Gold Bond places at next year’s London Marathon, so if anyone would like to apply, they just need to visit the link below and complete an application form. We’re hoping to make a final decision within the next month or so: https://www.braintumoursupport.co.uk/london-marathon-2027/

Best wishes,
Nadia

3. Park Run of the Month

We are asking members to nominate the date and location for future park runs of the month. The date can coincide with a special event e.g. birthday or milestone e.g. 100th parkrun. The location should be no more than a 30 minute drive from Thornbury. Please message treasurer@thornburyrunningclub.co.uk with your suggestions.

4. Winter Coaching Venue Needed

While Tuesday coaching goes on through the summer on Munday Playing Fields, the coaching team are in need of a venue for the dark nights of winter.  If you know of anywhere that might be suitable with good lighting and a lack of trip hazards then please contact Nick Williams (or any of the committee who can pass it on).  Thank you.

5. Local upcoming races – enter as “Thornbury Running Club”
