  1. Basic First Aid & CPR for runners – Monday 25th September

It is about time we revisited what to do when you are out running and someone nearby collapses. Clare Watt will lead an evening session on Monday 25th Sept in our usual room – Severnside Suite from 19.00-21.00.  All Members are welcome to come along. It just may save somebodies life if you know how to do CPR and give basic first aid.

  1. Thornbury 10k – Thursday 27th June 2024

We have at least one person who has volunteered to join a small to organise next years Thornbury 10k. We are still looking for more volunters and a Race Director – If you are interested in getting involved in a small team then please see Arthur Renshaw. Getting involved early, say by December, makes the whole job so much easier and there is plenty of experienced support around so you would not be left on your own.

  1. Pilates for Runners (a message from Captain Nick)

We have been offered a discount from Pilates for Runners, who were recently in attendance at the Bristol Running Show.  There are 7 x 15 minute sessions, which have been kept deliberately short so that they’re easy to slip into training, either before or after a run, first thing in the morning etc.  They are suitable for all abilities and require no kit at all, so accessible to everyone.

The sessions are all available online at https://pilatesforrunners.ac-page.com/BristolRunningShow. The sessions can be watched at any time, and can be repeated as many times as your members would like.

If you are interested in becoming a member too, then there are around 400 on demand sessions and programs to follow, plus weekly live Zoom sessions. We have been provide a discount if you use the code THORNBURY which will give you access to the monthly membership for £9.99 per month for the first 3 months. You can still get the 7 day free trial and can cancel anytime.
