Please could we have a volunteer (or two) to help Pete at the finish of the 10k on Thursday 27th May. He will need help to capture everyone’s time and distance (participants are self-timing). Anyone injured and unable to run or running another day and free to help would be appreciated. Thank you. Please contact captain@thornburyrunningclub.co.uk
4. Mental Health Champions update – Mental Health Awareness Week
10th – 16th May 2021 is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme this year is “Connect With Nature.”
The 2 aims of the week are to inspire more people to connect with nature in new ways and to convince decision makers at all levels that access to and quality of nature is a mental health and social justice issue as well as an environmental one. Many of our runners have often commented on how much they value the mental health benefits of running. Following on from the recent Run and Talk, we are encouraging those running or walking to pay particular attention to the nature around them sometime during the week, especially at TRC club runs on Thursday 13th May.
We would like people to share photos, videos or sound recordings on Strava and the TRC Facebook pages using the hashtags #ConnectwithNature #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
5. Cotswold Way Relay – Judy Mills (also see separate e-mail sent on Friday)
We have three teams entered in this year’s Cotswold Way Relay on 3rd July. For those of you who are new to the club the event is a 103 miles, 10 stages race off road race through beautiful Cotswold landscape from Chipping Campden to Bath. We need 30 runners, plus a couple of reserves. If you would like to apply to join a team please contact Judy Mills directly by e-mail judy.mills@live.co.uk Please let Judy know if you have a preference for which stage you run, or if there are any you are unable to run. This event is only open to club members
We will also need 3 volunteers who may be asked to deal with a road crossing or a water station please.

6. London Virtual Marathon
The Brightwell, a charity based in Bradley Stoke that supports people living with neurological conditions, have 3 places available to take part in the London Virtual Marathon. Do you know anyone who may be interested? The fundraising target is £150/person.
