  1. Self Defence

As many club members often run by themselves, and in less populated locations, personal safety always needs to be a concern. We therefore thought club members would value having some skills training and strategies for self-defence.  We have organised a Krav Maga self-defence session for Saturday 28th May 9:30 – 12:30 at a Club subsidised cost of £15.50 per person. We need 20 people for the session by 29th April please. Sign up link available next week.

  1. Membership Renewal 2022-23  Now Due

Membership for 2022-23 now due please -> Renewal . EA renewals are due 1st April so anyone wanting the Club EA subsidy please renew now. Please complete the form and accept the new T&C.   1. Club XC Champs

The results are in for this seasons XC Club champs and the winners are; overall ladies champ Laura Orna and men’s overall champ James Harrod. Age adjusted ladies champ is Jo Plumbley and men’s George Evans. The men’s over 65 winner outright is Chris Foley and age adjusted Arthur Renshaw. Awards will be made at the Annual Party & Awards Night. 52 people said they were interested in XC at the start of the season. 16 people ran once, 5 people ran twice, 8 people ran 3 time and 3 people ran all 4. The three runners who completed all 4 Glos league events were Andy Wilson, George Evans and Jim Godden. Special mention for Chris Foley who came joint 1st in MV70 Glos league and James Harrod who came joint 1st in Under 20. Well done to everyone taking part and representing the club and congrats to the winners.

  1. Club Charity Vote 2022-23

Three charities have been nominated and you now have until midnight Monday 25th March to vote. Details of the charities and please vote. The winning charity will be announced at the AGM 31/3.

  1. Free 15 min Sports Massage Thursday 24th March

Following Club run 24/3 a chance for a free 15 min sports massage in the Fitness Studio, TLC. No pre-booking required. If you have any muscular aches or pains that could benefit from a Sports Massage try Thornbury Sports Massage. If you have never tried Sports Massage now’s the time to try.  If you have had one before and know the benefits then try Jason. If you are currently injured, come along early.

  1. London Marathon

Disappointed by your London Marathon ballot result?  If you entered and have a rejection letter from the ballot you may be eligible for the Club’s London Marathon place. Take a look at Club London Marathon place to see if you qualify.

  1. TRC Annual Party & Awards Night – May 20th Thornbury Golf Club

Come along for an evening of celebration, laughter, dancing and yummy food! Tickets for the evening are at the subsidised price of £16 per person for both Club members and guests. Price includes first drink, sumptuous BBQ, Celebration cake and a disco.   1. Unique Coaching Opportunity – Sunday 8th May

We have 14 people signed up for the unique opportunity for all club runners to be coached by one of the UK’s leading athletics coaches, Shane Benzie.   1. EA Run & Coach #3 – Training for a 5K PB 5th April

  1. Pete Mainstone Winners – 2021-22

A correction to the recent item about winners of the Pete Mainstone Challenge. I was unaware of an unwritten rule that says the same person cannot win both the outright and age adjusted. So the ladies outright winner is Jo Plumbley and the men’s Nick Langridge. Age adjusted ladies winner is Carol Mosses and men’s Jonathan Hall. Awards will be presented at the Annual Party & Awards Night
