Mike Bennewitz’s goal of completing a half-marathon every month in 2019 took him to the German city of Stuggart on Sunday. Appropriately, for the home of Porsche, the course was a quick one and Mike set his fastest time of the year in 1 hour 55 mins.
Taryn Roberts and Hannah Kinloch Haken started their triathlon season in fine form on Sunday. Both were competing in the Sprint distance in the City of Gloucester Triathlon, which started with a 400m swim, followed by a 28k bike section and a 6k run to the finish. Her splits were 7:20 mins swim, 42:54 mins bike and a 23:03 mins run. Hannah capped a great day for Thornbury’s women with a 4th place finish and 18th overall in 1 hour 21:08 mins, with a 7:24 mins swim, 47:27 mins bike and 24:08 run.
