The Frampton Globe Trot is an annual 8-mile cross country race through the fields and trails of Frampton Cotterell and surrounding villages, with all proceeds going to support Frampton Cotterell C of E Primary School. There were 3 Thornbury runners in the field of 250 runners and Laura Orna was near the front of the race, finishing an impressive 3rd woman and 15th overall in 1 hour 2:11 mins. Kevin Cundy and Sonya Bryson have competed in the previous 2 races and were both back again, they were 74th and 75th respectively and 2 minutes quicker than their 2018 results in 1 hour 18:46 mins and 1 hour 18:47 mins.
Kevin Cundy was in action again the day after in Sri Chinmoy Duathlon in Tockington. There was a 2k run around the fields before heading to a 15k bike segment, followed by another 2k run. Kevin finished in 17th place in 50:21 mins. Kevin Wood was also in the field and finished in 27th place in 52:44 mins.
Saturday’s parkrun results featured a new club record at Thornbury parkrun for Nick Williams, his time of 17:31 mins was almost a minute quicker than his previous best and very impressive as the course is hilly and mostly off-road. Katherine Adams was next in 26:03 mins, followed by Nigel Hale 30:41 mins, Rebecca Twyman Dunsford 32:15 mins and Caron Hale 32:29 mins.
At Chipping Sodbury, Kevin Wood ran 22:25 mins, followed by Chris Dawes 23:59 mins, Chris Lee 27:03 mins, Pamela MacLeod 35:34 mins and Paul Saville 36:55 mins.
Benjamin Foss ran 20:27 mins at Warrington parkrun, followed by Nikki Hale in 26:04 mins. Kevin Arnold ran 22:50 mins at Street, and David Palmer and Anne Palmer ran 26:17 mins and 32:38 mins at Severn Bridge, respectively. Matt Johnstone finished Pomphrey Hill in 19:50 mins.
