What It Involves

Firstly, you need to become a member in the following way.

Membership is due in January of each year. See the Join or renew page for the form and more details about England Athletics benefits. Note that you should use the form to check or change your contact details.

One year’s membership will cost £15 for an adult, or £11 for additional adult family members.

There are various reductions for other categories:-

If you are a student then it will cost £8 on production of your NUS card.  Juniors, that is under 16s, can join for £1 but are only accepted as part of family membership as we are not currently set up to run a junior section.  Second claim members pay £7.

In order to help get fees in on time, a late supplement is added if you do not pay by the end of March.

In, addition, you also pay £1 for each club night that you attend, which helps towards the refreshments provided at the end of each night.

There is also an optional £8 fee to join England Athletics but this is needed if you want to enter a race run under their organisation. (The club will pay an additional £5 of the EA fee.) This is enforced for some races such as Midland and National Cross Countries.

New Members:-

If you are new to the club, then you can have 4 weeks for free to try us out and see how friendly we are before we ask you to make any decisions on becoming a paid up member.  You can join part way through the year at a reduced, proportional fee.

What you get in return:-

Use of the Sports Centre and its changing facilities each week, though there is a £1 fee on Thursdays towards drinks and biscuits.

Club coaching and running sessions.

£2.00 discount on race entry fees if you enter as a member of EA.

Entry fees paid by the club to various races where we enter as a team such as cross country events, Cotswold Way Relays, mob matches.

Refund of bridge fees when car sharing to team events in Wales.

Lastly and not leastly, you get to run, train, improve yourself and join in with other like minded souls (idiots) in the wonderful world of club running.  You will find other people of your own level and aspirations, be introduced to new routes and events that you never knew about before and generally enjoy the exhilaration, companionship and humour in just getting out and running.
